Locally adapted seeds for the Mendocino Coast
Local Seed Project
We’re a grassroots group of gardeners growing and sharing seeds for the cool summers of the Mendocino Coast.
From May to September, we gather at our South Caspar field and seed storage sites to grow, save, clean, and share seed. With around six regular volunteers and many more seasonal participants, we host work days, seed swaps, and community events all year long.
Formerly known as Nourishing Seeds and Mendo SeedMobile, Field of Dreams Local Seed Project is a volunteer-powered effort to adapt and share food crops that thrive in our foggy coastal climate.
We’re building a future of resilient, nutrient-dense, and locally adapted food crops—selected by our community, for our community, and shared freely with anyone who wants to grow.
